The film “Dishes” is about a couple that lacks communication. The husband feels as if he’s not being heard fully, while the wife feels she's offering her best to her spouse. It’s common in relationships to fight over the little intricacies that build up over time, especially when communication is lacking. The true emotions are not expressed explicitly; rather, they are implied through the dishes, and certain remarks from the husband communicate his feelings in terms of cleaning dishes.
